The summary of main tasks includes, but is not limited to:
- Translate a brief and strategic requirements into a compelling creative solution
- Present the work to the Creative Director and Creative Group Leader
- In collaboration with an art director, generate effective, innovative and compelling creative concepts for individual advertisements or campaigns based on sound strategies
- Write scripts for radio, television, print and electronic/digital media
- Write and produce for radio
- Direct and produce effective, impactful and compelling advertisements that reflect insight into the task, brand and target market
- Lead the radio to a high quality end product
- Keep abreast of creative trends and opportunities
- Take ownership of your tasks and actively manage the creative process to progress towards the deadline
Minimum Relevant Experience and Required Skills/Attributes:
- A tertiary qualification in copywriting and/or advertising
- At least two years of editorial experience within an advertising agency – retail customer experience a bonus
- A portfolio that reflects creative writing skills – Detail work a bonus
- Proficiency in MS Word / PowerPoint / Keynote
- Bilingual – a good command of both languages (English and Afrikaans – spoken and written)
- Strong presentation skills
- Strong multitasking skills
- Understand advertising as a sales tool, especially in the retail space
- Ability to work in a team as well as independently
- Ability to remain calm in a highly pressurized environment
- Assertive
- “Ready to use” creative thinking
- Resilient and able to accept advice and respond well to criticism
- Meticulous attention to detail
