Singapore cops use MS Paint to make PSA while their graphic designer is away

We don’t often realize the importance of (good) graphic design when it comes to getting a message across, such as a Public Service Announcement (PSA).

It might sound easy, but it takes a trained professional to truly bring a message to life that might otherwise fall on deaf ears.

Whether you agree or disagree with this statement, these Singapore cops from NPC Yishun North had no choice but to improvise their social media game while their in-house graphic designer was away.

The show must continue.

Not knowing how to use professional graphic design software, the cops at Yishun North NPC resorted to a long-beloved classic: Microsoft Paint.

Here’s a PSA they recently shared on September 28:

“DO NOT SHARE YOUR OTP !!” reads their PSA, with jagged letters created by MS Paint’s freehand brush tool.

“Our graphic designer is away this week. So we had to improvise because the show must go on,” said the police station on the PSA post on Facebook, reiterating the importance of not sharing your bank details with anyone, including the words of single-use pass.

The caption ends with a few witty hashtags – #FightingCrimeNeverStops, #DigitalArtist, #DontBeScammed, and finally, #MultiTalented.

The comically raw PSA has garnered over 2,900 reactions and over 3,000 shares on Facebook.

Facebook page admin Yishun North NPC even shared some hilarious memes in the comments section of his PSA.

The first encourages people to follow their Instagram:

And then a day later, sharing their graphic designer ‘s supposed reaction to the viral release of their MS Paint PSA:

One reviewer recommended using Microsoft Word to make their life easier, to which Yishun North’s NPC responded:
