The graphic designer uses a racy dual-screen MacBook Pro rig [Setups]

Have you ever had to show off your painstakingly constructed computer setup so that everyone walks past the equipment just to watch what’s displayed on the screen(s)? Desktop wallpaper.

It’s a bit like that with today’s configuration, the brainchild of a graphic designer.

He set up the dual-screen setup around a 13-inch MacBook Pro M1 with a nice array of keys. And he also created neato racing car wallpaper which got the most attention.

Racy dual-screen MacBook Pro M1 setup with homemade wallpaper

Redditor Eddie1340 showed off his setup in a post simply titled, “MacBook Pro M1 Setup.” Redditors found the platform “pleasantly minimal”, “clean”, and “superb”.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro M1 goes through a pluggable USB-C docking station via DisplayLink to a pair of 27-inch 4K LG displays sitting on a DIY desktop shelf.

One of the LGs is the UL550, an IPS display with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels and HDR10 technology. The other is the UP850-W, a 3840 x 2160 pixel resolution IPS display with HDR 400 technology and USB-C connectivity.

Eddie also uses a 12.9-inch iPad Pro with Pencil. This is another beautiful display.

Keyboard, trackpad and mouse

And it’s not just the solid screens that Eddie enjoys in his graphic designer setup. A certain combination of input devices also pleases. On either side of its Magic Keyboard are a Magic Trackpad 2 and a Logitech MX Master 3 wireless mouse.

Another reviewer touted this increasingly common device configuration for its ease of trackpad gestures complementing other mouse uses and making it easier to switch between windows and screens.

“Graphic designer here, I also use it to switch between multiple windows/desktops,” Eddie added, agreeing with the comments, but also adding his choice to have two screens. “That’s also why I didn’t have an ultrawide.”

Audio, video and lighting

Eddie’s setup has a fairly powerful audio component. Nothing against the MacBook Pro’s speakers, but the Samsung HW-A550 2.1ch soundbar with Dolby Digital 5.1 and wireless subwoofer surely tops it in the room-filling sound department.

And it has a handy audio-video source with the Amazon Echo Show 5, perched just behind the keyboard. It is suitable as a diary, alarm clock, smart home management center, streaming media player and video conferencing device.

Lighting in the setup comes from a Xiaomi Mi monitor light in the front, illuminating the desk, and a couple of Philips Hue Play smart bar lights in the back, casting a warm light on the wall and blinds.

And of course this racing car wallpaper

While commentators were talking about some of the components of the setup, one after another referred to the racing car wallpaper being split between the two screens. How can they get it?

Eddie obliged with answers. Turns out he designed own wallpaperbut there is also others like it.
